Mike Sherwood, the alchemist behind Sub Rosa Spirits wrote to us today to say that his packaging received an Award of Merit at The Rosey Awards last night.
“The folks at Magneto Brand Advertising did a great job with the Sub Rosa Spirits labels,” he says.
Portland Mercury published a nice feature on Sherwood and Sub Rosa last spring. Here’s their take on what’s inside the bottles:
The saffron vodka is a masterly concoction of eight spices with notes of cumin and coriander as well as fragrant overtones of saffron. It’s quite spicy, inspired by curry, and when stirred with mango nectar it develops on the palate like a hard mango lassi.
The tarragon is another story. Here, there are hints of citrus and anise along with a clean tarragon wash. It is perfect on its own, stirred with ice, accompanied by a twist of lemon and sipped from a pre-chilled martini glass.
The Sub Rosa labels also appear in the 2008 Print Magazine Design Annual.
