What if Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday was something that you could experience in real life? Pabst Blue Ribbon is giving beer drinkers the chance to find out via a limited-time brand activation at the Grand Traverse Motel in the popular summer town of Traverse City, Michigan.
Fans of PBR and nostalgia can now choose to spend the night in one of three PBR-themed rooms – the Dive Bar, Arcade, and Rec Room. Each of the rooms is outfitted with old-school game consoles, a VCR and tape library, a record player, a Juke Box, board games, and more.
The immersive experience was created by PBR’s new agency, DNA in Seattle, in order to celebrate the brand’s new platform “Pabst is the Place.”
Rachel Keeton, Marketing Director for PBR said, “The Motel becomes the Place, evoking that comfortable and timeless feeling of PBR for visitors to experience first-hand.”
In a similar vacation-themed brand activation, Taco Bell opened “The Bell,” a four-day, Instagram-friendly pop-up hotel in Palm Springs, California in 2019.
