Tom Steyer, who has been gaining influence with his NeedToImpeach TV commercials is now a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Let’s hear him speak his mind in this announcement video.

How does he get away with being so down to Earth? Maybe it’s because in San Francisco one out of every 11,600 people is a billionaire. That makes San Francisco, globally ranked fourth in number of billionaires, the city with the most billionaires per capita — by far.
Tom According to Tom
Tom grew up in New York City, the youngest of three brothers. He graduated from Yale and earned his MBA at Stanford.
Working on Wall St. was not for him, so he moved to San Francisco in 1986 and started his own small investment firm. Backed by two seasoned investors, Tom started managing the new fund, which began with $9 million in investments. Over the years, Tom achieved double-digit returns for his investors — mostly universities, foundations and individuals.

Steyer is 62. He and his wife Kat have four grown children. They have made their home in the city by the Bay since 1986.
He’s Not Howard Schultz or Mayor Bloomberg
We, the People, know where Steyer stands on Impeachment. He’s for it.
Steyer also has the distinct advantage of not needing to rely on fundraising or a blessing from the Democratic Party. He can and will run TV advertising and the ads will work. He may not win the nomination, but his ads will propel him forward and his POV will be part of the discussion.
I don’t care for the “self-made man” image much, so I won’t go there. I will say that Steyer, unlike Sitting POTUS, earned his money the hard way. Thus, his story is better because he’s more American. When you grow up a scrapper, an underdog, a fighter, you can relate to the working woman and man in a way that the trust funder never will.
When you get lucky after massive effort and financial fortune is finally yours, you can choose to horde the loot or see it as the social currency that it is. Some rich guys want cars and yachts and planes. Other rich guys want peace on Earth.
