About Wade Sturdivant
Currently jumping on the creatives-go-client-side bandwagon as Executive Director of Creative Content for MGM Resorts. Wade’s years of ad agency experience include award-winning stints at DDB, Publicis, The Richards Group and Leo Burnett in Tokyo, Japan. Along the way, he’s shot commercials on four continents, worked with heads of state and U.S. Army generals and met Carrot Top in-person. When he’s not in the office, you’ll find him at home playing guitar, building guitars and scouring the internet for (duh) more guitars.
Shawn says
The report is obviously flawed as AdPulp.com didn’t make the top 3 sample for marketing/advertising.
1. AdLand
2. AdRants
3. Wonder Branding
However the repor does include 15 Key questions on whether or not to blog. The highlight is question 15:
“Are you willing to enter the world of blogging with honesty, frankness and humor? If you cannot get past the ‘marketing speak’ and defensiveness, then do not blog.”
Now if only I could get that damn Lime Coke jingle out of my melon.
David Burn says
Nor did we make Fast Company’s list of best Ad blogs, published in March.
If this keeps up, I may just break down and cry. Being an ad man, I have a deep need for attention, money, fame, flattery and complimentary tickets to all the best sporting events. I mean what’s the point of all this work, anyway?
Wade Sturdivant says
Perhaps a cross-promotional deal with Skechers and Christina Aguilera would help build awareness. I’ll handle the photo shoot.
Danny G says
Well, I do happen to know that if we piss off the 4A’s, we’ll get attention. But no money, fame, flattery or complimentary tickets to anything.
Shawn says
Anyone remember the mock Puma ads floating around a couple years ago.
Wade Sturdivant says
Yeah, Shawn. I saw them.
So sexually blatant they’d never run (at least not in America), but very well executed as I recall.
