Saatchi & Saatchi/NY ECDs Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico have left the agency, according to Best Ads on TV. These are the guys who did “Hot Juicy Burgers” for Wendy’s and won a platoon of awards during their 2-year stint at the agency. My two cents on the Wendy’s spot is that it works too hard and feels strained. But the “Happy Morning” viral they did for Folgers is genuinely odd and inventive. (Too bad the online component of that campaign was so tepid.)
The departure seems amicable.
Where they are off to next is a mystery, although one presumes it’s to start their own shop. One source said it would be backed by Saatchi & Saatchi parent Publicis Groupe.
Flaberghasted says
Wow, can they really start an agency with all the scam work they’ve won that platoon of awards for?
Who’s going to run the Saatchi award show entry factory now?
Schrodinger's Copywriter says
The Folger’s stuff they did was quite good, conceptually and strategically.

backed by publicis=publicis owns it. not these dudes. so they’re not really starting their own shop. just as cutwater is not really a new shop. it’s a place for omnicom to park jeep.
