To celebrate its 15th year in business, Portland agency, Roundhouse, is preparing to drop copywriter Lee Kimball along Oregon’s wild and scenic Lower Crooked River.
Why would they do that? To see if the writer can survive one week in the wilderness equipped with only the help of the agency’s clients’ products. “All creative agencies talk a big game about ‘living their clients’ brands,’ but at Roundhouse, we want to put that claim to the test,” says Joe Sundby, Roundhouse ECD and Partner.
Some might call this taking “proof of concept” too far. Yet, Roundhouse execs believe Kimball will be okay in the woods for a week by himself. Thankfully, the agency does boast an outdoor and apparel-heavy client roster, including Leatherman, adidas, Rio, Redington and Red Bull, among others.
Concerned and/or interested viewers can follow Kimball’s journey from July 18-22 at LivingOffTheBrands.com. He plans to use client products to fish and forage. In order to drink enough water and get some sleep, he will need to rely on his creative abilities and invent solutions on the fly.
