USA TODAY reports Major League Baseball’s online unit, MLB Advanced Media, is taking its biggest step into non-sports entertainment by joining with music marketing and licensing power Signatures Network in a 50-50 venture.
Their still-unnamed partnership, forged late last month, will offer musicians in Signatures’ stable ways to use the Internet to take charge of their images and financial affairs. Signatures administers sites for performers including Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne and Fleetwood Mac and handles e-commerce for stars such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Kanye West and Coldplay.
The above named musicians obviously have not been following the comment thread on this site, that strips MLB Advanced Media of any and all exterior gloss. MLB.com makes it nearly impossible to cancel one’s service. There are some justifiably pissed off people out there and a class action law suit is in the works. Someone might want to tip these musicians off, before they willingly go down this drain.
