The New Zealand border is currently closed to almost all travelers to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The travel ban applies to all arrivals into New Zealand whether it is by air or sea.
But these restrictions won’t be in place forever, and when it is safe to go again, many people will be desperate for a vacation. Flying for 21 hours to get to Auckland is far from appealing, but the land and people on the other side are one heck of a draw.
Let’s look at this new work from SPECIAL, the Auckland ad agency working with the nation’s travel bureau.

Few places in the world rival New Zealand’s natural gifts. These power spots are wonderful to experience when you visit. But what about the people who live there? How are Kiwis shaped by their land and climate? I contend that we can see the answer in the people, scripted or not.

The travel brand’s “Good Morning World” consumer-generated content campaign draws on contributions from people around the island nation who submit their videos, which are then uplifted by Tourism NZ.
The positive vibes from the people of New Zealand are palpable. When a place and people have a code to live by, and the code is connection—to nature and people—the result is joy.
It’s amazing what respect for one another and for one’s home can do. It’s also amazing what a positive approach can do.
