Are you a mansplainer? Prepare to be disrupted.
In honor of International Women’s Day, BETC São Paulo has launched the Woman Interupted App to combat gender inequality.
In 2014, a study by researchers at George Washington University pointed out that women are significantly more interrupted than men. Last summer, during the first “debate” between Don Trump and Hillary Clinton, Trump not only mansplained, he interrupted the former Secretary of State, U.S. Senator and First Lady a total of 51 times.
“It may seem like a small problem, but it reflects deeper issues of gender inequality at work and in society. The App is a way of showing that, in fact, interruption is real and alarming,” says Gal Barradas, founder and Co-CEO of BETC São Paulo.
Get the App and start tracking the rudeness all around you.
