I am excited to see Elizabeth Moss of Mad Men star in The Handmaid’s Tale, a new production which premieres on Hulu on April 26.
The brilliant 1985 novel by Canadian writer Margaret Atwood could not be more timely. The story is set in a dystopia dominated by right-wing religious tyranny and environmental devastation where fertile young women are bound in sexual slavery.
Atwood’s book previously was adapted into a 1990 feature film directed by Volker Schlondorff and starring Natasha Richardson, Faye Dunaway and Robert Duvall.
Hulu is an online subscription service. Visitors can enjoy a free trial for one week and I imagine millions of people may be about to sample Hulu for the first or second time, due to the strength of this program offering.
