David Griner of Adfreak reported on the Mandorid campaign last year, when it was new.
Turning women into mindless nymphomaniacs is the epitome of sexist advertising, but with one of the world’s top agencies behind the campaign, one has to wonder if the whole thing is just a meta parody of how dumb most male-oriented advertising is.
“A meta parody.” I like the sound of that.

“I know it’s nearly impossible to believe, but I’m not actually a real man…”

For some reason the types of commercials like old spice just work. They hit their researched demographic with the right tone and it flies of the shelf. Personally, I think that the demographic is hitting those in middle school and high school and they are now just trying to keep their audience by having the same theme of their commercials. Women and men will always be projected with some stereotype in the media if branding is trying to be relatable which it usually is.
