Late adoption in Brazil, as elsewhere, is rare. People want babies.
Today, 92% of children who are waiting for adoption in Brazil are over seven years old. However, of the 37,000 parents who want to adopt, only nine percent welcome children of that age or older, according to data from the National Justice Council.
To bring attention to the adoption cause, Dermodex brand, a specialist in diaper rashes, and BETC São Paulo produced the following content, and released it to help support National Adoption Day (May 25th).
BETC São Paulo made a special early childhood “concept album,” focused on three Brazilian families. For the first time, the parents and children were able to visualize some of the missing special moments of early childhood.
These are illustrated sketches, not reality, but the feelings of goodwill and the tears that a parent sheds are real.
