Miami ad man, Bruce Turkel, appeared on Fox to provide expert commentary on two new commercials: a sexist blunder from Subway and a spot from Domino’s that features a voice ordering app for pizza.
Turkel rightly claims that Subway missed the mark. You don’t tell people to go on a diet so they fit into sexy Halloween costumes and get away with it. And Subway didn’t get away with it. After criticism in the media, the sandwich maker pulled the ad.
Speaking of sex in fast food advertising, Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. has no intention of pulling its ads. Here is a new one that equates eating a tall stack of bacon atop a burger with having sex on an airplane (with a stranger).
