Sorry for the headline. I would’ve been a multiple Gold Pencil winner back in the 80’s with chestnuts like that one.
But yeah, if you’ve got a cushy voiceover gig for a company that does most of its business in Japan, don’t send insensitive Tweets about the earthquake. From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
The Columbus, Ga.-based company has parted ways with comedian Gilbert Gottfried after his series of tasteless Twitter posts regarding the crisis in Japan. Gottfried, the longtime voice of the duck, was fired Monday after ruffling the feathers of many following the news of tsunami, the company announced on its website.
“I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, ‘They’ll be another one floating by any minute now,'” Gottfried tweeted Saturday, according to the Associated Press.
AFLAC does about 75% of its business in Japan.

Shock humor is one thing, its a completely different thing to make fun of thousands of lost lives. Those “jokes” were also lame as shit. Leave the jokes to the young guys Gilbert, you unfunny douche.
